Caring for and Cleaning Your Rug
Vacuuming Your Rug
Vacuuming is a cost-effective and efficient method for keeping your rug clean. If your vacuum has adjustable suction, set it to a low level and go over each area slowly, making 3-5 passes to remove dust, dirt, and hair.
Use a Lint Roller
To use a lint roller on a rug, unroll the sticky sheet and roll it back and forth across the rug's surface. Apply gentle pressure to pick up lint, hair, and debris.
Stains
For dry stains, use a lint roller or gently scrape and vacuum away dirt and stains.
To tackle wet stains, use a paper towel or undyed cloth to absorb the stain. Dampen the stain with lukewarm water and a cloth or sponge, then blot up the moisture with a cloth. Repeat this process until the stain fades. Avoid saturating the rug to preserve the glue binding that holds the surface in place.
For greasy or stubborn stains, use a pH-neutral and bleach-free cleaner following the steps mentioned above.
Professional Cleaning
When unsure or in doubt, it's advisable to have your rug professionally cleaned. Avoid dry cleaning methods, as they may not be suitable for rugs.
